Current projects are related to development of energy projects (Refinery, Oil Sands, SAGD, Coal, Power Distribution and Materials Handling).

INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICAL DESIGNER - SHERWOOD PARK, AB

What You Offer
You are a motivated self-starter and team contributor with at least five years progressive Electrical Design experience, within an EPC environment [Industrial / Oilsands]. You also bring the following skills and experience to the team:

  • Prepare Key Deliverables: knowledge and proficiency reading and preparing key electrical deliverables (single line diagrams, electrical layouts, detailed wiring diagrams, etc.). 
  • Calculations: Prepare, verify and implement electrical design calculations such as voltage drop, cable ampacity, cable tray loading and conduit fill. Demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian electrical code and proficiency in using its tables and rules to perform electrical design is a must. 
  • Computer Assisted Drafting: demonstrated experienced using AutoCAD and Microstation; experience with Autoplant and other 3D modeling software an asset. Smartplant experience an asset but not required. Must be comfortable working in a 3D environment and reviewing models.

Competencies / Experience Requirements

  • C. Tech, C.E.T. in Electrical Engineering Technology;
  • Foreign trained engineers pursuing their Canadian P.Eng.;
  • 3 years related experience minimum;
  • Previous EPC experience required;
  • Motivated, self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision.

SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGNER – SUBSTATION FOCUS:  SHERWOOD PARK, ALBERTA

As we seek to build our capabilities in the area of high voltage substations, we welcome individuals with this background; in addition you also bring the following skills and experience to the team:

  •  Plan / Prepare Key Deliverables: identify / prepare key deliverables (single line diagrams, electrical layouts, detailed wiring diagrams, etc.) conforming to internal and external requirements throughout various project stages (scoping studies, detailed design, etc.). 
  • Calculations: Prepare, verify and implement electrical design calculations such as voltage drop, cable ampacity, cable tray loading, and conduit fill. Demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian electrical code and proficiency in using its tables and rules to perform electrical design is a must. 
  • Coordinate: demonstrated ability to interface between the lead electrical engineer, other engineering disciplines, project engineer, project manager and the client to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of information. 
  • Supervise: under the direction of, and working closely with, the Lead Electrical Engineer, you will lead a team of engineers, designers and CAD operators to accomplish all aspects of work required, ensuring technical integrity and designs per Company and client standards / specifications, as well as overall responsibility for producing identified deliverables.
