Rally is seeking an experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join our engineering consulting team. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, project execution oversight, and client-facing support for a diverse portfolio of industrial projects. This role is responsible for leading structural engineering activities from concept development through detailed design, construction support, and project completion while ensuring technical excellence, quality, safety, and client satisfaction. The Lead Structural Engineer will work closely with project managers, discipline leads, clients, and design teams to deliver innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions across brownfield and greenfield facilities.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and client-focused structural engineering professional with strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex industrial projects within an engineering consulting or EPCM environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering activities for industrial, energy, mining, and infrastructure projects.
- Serve as the discipline lead responsible for structural engineering scope, budget, schedule, and deliverables.
- Develop and review structural calculations, specifications, design criteria, reports, and engineering packages.
- Design and analyze steel structures, reinforced concrete structures, foundations, equipment supports, pipe racks, and buildings.
- Coordinate structural engineering interfaces with civil, mechanical, piping, process, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to structural engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Conduct design reviews, constructability reviews, and risk assessments to ensure safe and practical designs.
- Review vendor documentation and provide technical support during procurement activities.
- Support project planning, engineering estimates, proposals, and business development initiatives.
- Participate in client meetings and act as a trusted technical advisor throughout project execution.
- Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, startup, and field execution activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and company quality procedures.
- Prepare man-hour estimate and project deliverable list and review with Department Head.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration with a provincial engineering association, or eligibility for registration.
- 10+ years of structural engineering experience, including leadership responsibilities within an engineering consulting or EPCM environment.
- Demonstrated experience delivering brownfield and greenfield industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel, reinforced concrete, foundations, industrial buildings, equipment support structures, and pipe rack systems.
- Experience with applicable design codes and standards, including CSA, NBC, AISC, ASCE, and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, RISA, S-Frame, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary project execution and engineering work processes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and client relationship management skills.
Preferred
- Experience in oil & gas, oil sands, mining, petrochemical, power, or industrial facilities.
- EPCM project execution experience.
- Project management or project engineering experience.
- Experience supporting operating facilities and brownfield modifications.
- Construction support and field engineering experience.
