Full project lifecycle experience from scoping studies to detailed engineering, for both brownfield modifications and medium-scale greenfield projects.
This includes process simulations, hydraulic evaluations, equipment sizing, and process safety.
Process Simulations
- Develop simulations for heat & material balances, stream data, and vapor hydraulic calculations, including dynamic modeling and training simulator integration.
- Modify complete refinery unit models to reflect project changes; provide simulation oversight for CDU, VDU, NHT/DHT, CCR, HCU, FCCU, SRU/ARU (Sulsim).
- Support simulation of hydrocarbon fractionation (C1–C5+), gas dehydration, LNG systems, mechanical refrigeration, and CO₂ purification. Collaborate with catalyst vendors (Topsoe, WR Grace, Axens, Ketjen, Criterion) and technology licensors (UOP, Lummus, Technip).
- Use Honeywell UniSim and Aspen HYSYS; team includes Aspen certified advanced users.
Equipment Sizing
- Specify new equipment: pumps, compressors, exchangers, chillers, vessels, tanks, columns, terminals, custody transfer, blowers, control valves, piping, and more.
- Conduct rating checks and debottleneck existing systems.
- Manage vendor and technology licensor relationships.
Process Safety
- Facilitate PHA, HAZOP, SIL, and what-if analyses.
- Conduct pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR).
- Develop over-pressure scenarios and protection.
