Scope of Work

Rally designed a new facility to unload, store, and inject chemical additives into diesel fuel at a Client’s refinery. New double-walled ULC-S601 storage tanks were procured to store Cetane Improver, Detergent, and Lubricity additives, while a stacked-tote system was employed to store Static Dissipator fluid. Rally also specified new rotary gear pumps and chemical metering pumps. The new equipment allows for precise injection of the additives into the Client’s diesel fuel rundown line, on the way to the sales tank farm.

Rally designed a glycol circulation system to heat the Detergent and Lubricity additive tanks to ensure reliable winter operation. A compact plate & frame steam heat exchanger and a skid-mounted pump circulate the heating medium. Rally also engineered a multi-level pipe rack that is fully integrated with the tank access structures. A new control building provides four-season weather protection for the facility’s operators.

Deliverables

Rally provided multi-discipline engineering support to this project, from initial scoping to detailed engineering. Rally produced the material requisitions (MRs) and construction work packages (CWPs) required to procure new materials and integrate them into the brownfield facility.
