The objective of this project was to complete detailed engineering for the installation of a 350gpm water distillation plant to treat pond water for use within an existing site utilities plant.
The Rally design team provided front-end and detailed engineering to construct a new water distillation plant within a partially decommissioned plant. The project was designed and built on a tight schedule and was cost-driven.
Consequently, Rally worked with the Client to repurpose existing equipment wherever possible. New condensers and pumps were installed alongside existing evaporators and tanks. Mothballed equipment and buildings were refurbished to reduce capital cost. Laser scans were used extensively to model this brownfield work in 3D, accelerating the design while minimizing clashes.
