Rally embarked on a project to develop a concept, and then perform detailed engineering, for a new propane truck loading system.
The Client’s original propane truck loading equipment was antiquated and under-utilized. Rally developed several new concepts for loading larger propane trucks with modern equipment. The Client chose a modular two-arm loading rack design to enable simultaneous filling of both trailers of a B-train transport truck in less than 45 minutes.
Rally proceeded into detailed design work, delivering the multi-discipline engineering required to procure new equipment and integrate it with the brownfield infrastructure. Modularization of the new truck loading systems, mercaptan injection system, and TAS shelter maximized off-site work and minimized disruptions to nearby truck loading facilities.
The new system safely and efficiently loads propane onto B-trains in accordance with Measurement Canada and Client standards.
Rally prepared Construction Work Packages (CWPs) for field work relating to piping, pump installation, earthworks, concrete & piling, grouting, structural steel, electrical, and instrumentation.
MRs were issued for sliding vane propane pumps, bottom-pivoting loading arms, piping specialty items, truck loading modules, an electrical transformer, various instruments, a mercaptan metering and injection system, and a multi-discipline TAS shelter featuring a TMS, TAS cabinets, and HMI.
